Revolution the poor relationship between Britain and the American colonists. The relationship
between the two parties worsened and the revolution began. (0 mark)
Other reasons like the American Revolution was brought about by the unfair trade under the British
rule in America and the colonists were not happy with the British rule due to the unfair trade. For

According to Source B, "Join or Die" the American colonists or American colonies were shown
as disunited states. (1 mark)
Explanation - According to Source B, these states failed to share their identities as Americans.
Only when they joined together, the American colonists would unite together to fight with
Britain, their common enemy. If they did not join together, they would lose the revolution and
they might die. Britain was a strong country at that time and America was her colony. (2 marks)
(c) Why did the American colonists win the revolution? Explain your answer with reference to
Source B and using your own knowledge.
The American colonists won the revolution. (0 mark)
According to Source B, "Join or Die". The American colonists were strongly encouraged by the
poster to unite together later during the American Revolution. At the beginning of the American
Revolution, the 13 American colonies were not united. This is a reason why the colonists won the
war later. (2 marks)

they were not as well trained as the British. Therefore, they tried to avoid large-scale battles with
the British. They had better chances to win. OR

Holland. Military help from these countries was important to the success of the colonists. [For

knew their land well which was the geographical advantage to them in fighting with the
British. OR
According to my own knowledge, with the help of Washington - his leadership - who was the
commander in chief of the Continental Army. In American history, George Washington was
regarded as the 'Father of His Country'. He turned a disorganized militia into a well-trained
army, which won American independence from Britain in the American Revolution.

spirit during the revolution.]
